YOGA FOR KIDS - August-2009
Australia is a land of clean air, great beaches, open spaces, fresh abundant fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products and honey. But unfortunately, Australian kids are not as healthy as they could be. Many of them are putting on excess weight and not losing it as they get older. Exercise, in a variety of ways, will help greatly in shaping not only their bodies, but their minds and their lives.
One such beneficial form of exercise is yoga. Physically, it enhances children’s flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvelous inner light that all children have to the surface.
